I've been fond of writing and fashion ever since my very first journalism

class in high school. Considering my old high school had a strict, uniform

dress code, I found great pleasure in seeking out and reporting on how

students who were stretching the law set out for us by our authoritarian

Catholic school, and finding new ways of making their uniform entirely their

own. From that point on, the fire was lit.

I became involved with A Magazine in my freshman year at Kent State.

A Magazine became the independent variable throughout my college career.

I got my start by volunteering to write weekly articles for their online blog.

With more experience and a greater confidence in my journalistic abilities,

I began to climb the ladder. I was hired as a member of the editorial board

one year later as the web editor. This was the first semester where I had full

participation in the development of a print magazine.

Following a semester abroad, I returned as managing editor, a role I fell into with ease. After five months of soaking up as much information as possible, I was granted the role of editor-in-chief. During my time at A Magazine, not only did I gain experience in just about everything regarding web design, magazine layout, styling, social media, promotions, finance and, arguably most important, journalism, I was lucky enough to discover my passion. The path with which I'm to follow. And it's to write.
